What is the Trinity?
The word “trinity” is not found in the Bible, but the concept is. All cults deny the Trinity. Christians claim it is true. But, what is it? Is it an office held by three gods (Mormonism) or a pagan concept borrowed from ancient cults (as the Jehovah’s Witnesses teach)? The Oneness Pentecostal believers teach that God is not a Trinity but is really one person who takes three forms. So, which of these is true? None.
The Trinity is the doctrine that there is only one God in all creation, all time, and all places. This one God exists as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is not the same person as the other, yet there are not three gods, but one.
The Bible has many references to a plurality concerning the nature of God’s existence. Consider the following verses as an example: Gen. 19:24, “Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.” Notice that the Lord rained FROM the Lord out of heaven. Amos 4:10-11 says, “I sent a plague among you after the manner of Egypt; I slew your young men by the sword along with your captured horses, And I made the stench of your camp rise up in your nostrils; Yet you have not returned to Me, declares the Lord [YHWH]. 11I overthrew you as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, And you were like a firebrand snatched from a blaze; Yet you have not returned to Me, declares the Lord.” Notice here that the Lord is talking and says, “I overthrew you as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.” Sometimes when I show these verses to Jehovah’s Witnesses (without saying anything else), they often respond with, “Are you trying to show me the Trinity?” I then say, “You got the Trinity out of that? Wow!”
In the New Testament there are several verses that show God’s plurality. Here ’s two. Matt. 28:19, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” Note that there is one name and three persons. Also, 2 Cor. 13:14, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.” These kinds of verses, and others are part of the means by which the doctrine of the Trinity is derived.
When we “theologians” use the word “person,” we are not saying that God is three individual beings walking around who are actually one being. That would be a contradiction. Instead, we define a person as having self awareness, identity, can speak, love, grieve, etc. These are attributes of personhood and we see all of these attributes, and more, in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Trinity is a very important doctrine within Christianity. It is the correct view of the Godhead and needs to be affirmed by Christians. Of course, the cults deny the Trinity, often misrepresent it as teaching three gods, or that it is an office, etc. But the truth is that the Trinity doctrine is derived from Scripture and is unique to Christianity.
Finally, the Trinity is important because only in the doctrine of the Trinity can we have the true incarnation of God (the Word become flesh as the Son – John 1:1,14). Only the God-man Jesus can offer a sacrifice sufficient to appease the infinite Father in heaven. No mere man can do this. No mere angel. Instead, God the Word, in His grace, added to Himself human nature (Phil. 2:5-8) in order to bear our sins in His body on the cross (1 Pet. 2:24) so that He might become sin on our behalf (2 Cor. 5:21). This way, He atoned for our sins by the shedding of His blood (Heb. 9:22) and guaranteed that all who trust in Him will receive everlasting life (John 3:16). Because of what Jesus did on the cross, we might then have eternal life that is received by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8). Amen to that!

Where is the concept of the “trinity” to be found in the Bible? It is not there. The idea has to be imagined, assumed, added to, and read into, each and every scripture that is presented to allegedly support the added-on concept. The fact that one of the JWs (I am not with the JWs) realized that you were using scriptures that are alleged to “prove” the trinity doctrine only means that he or she realized that you were using scriptures that are often used to allegedly prove the trinity doctrine, not that the JW realized that those scriptures were actually and in reality had anything to do with the added-on trinity dogma. (More trinitarian assumption.) If the extra-Biblical concept of the trinity is added to the scriptures, it destroys the true Biblical concept of the redemption in Christ.

I added DR. J. Vernon McGee’s Q-A on the Trinity. Hope this helps you understand the Trinity better.

It fasinates me why so many can not understand this concept of Trinity. Only cults don’t believe in the Trinity. Why is this statement so true? They want to make Jesus something else other than God.. JESUS IS GOD! Jesus is the Begining – The Middle – The End
The word Trinity is never found in the Bible this is true, but the doctrine is. God is a Person, eternally existing as a Trinity in unity-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and have the same attributes and perfections (I John 5:7; Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 6:4; II Corinthians 8:6; 13:14; John 14:10,26).

It just dawned on me. Even thought the word ( Trinity ) is not in the bible, ( Rapture, Or Bible ) is not either. I still believe in both of them. There is still evidence of both through out the Bible, Old and New Testament. I did look at your website and I think you are all about JW ( A Cult ). What cults do are try to disprove Jesus Is God. Only God Can Forgive Sin. Jesus Is God, Jesus died on the cross for me and forgives my Sins. I love Him for this. Without Jesus I’m condemd to a life in hell apart from the Father ( John 3:16 ). There is only one way to the Father and thats thru Jesus Christ. Cults of of the devil, satins work to prevent ever lasting life with the Father. I Choose Life with The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit is My God
God Bless You

The Trinity
God has not given us any problem with the trinity. Nevertheless,
when people manipulate with God’s word and make their own theories
and doctrines, then problems appear. Instead of reading God’s word
as it is written, they have made a doctrine about what the Bible teaches.
They have a doctrine about the doctrine.
This is a worry for many Christians. The word “trinity” does not
occur in the Bible, and how to think about this?
In daily speaking and writing we use many words which do not occur
in the Bible. We use the words we need. A word or a way of expressing
does not need be wrong only because it does not occur in the Bible.
We can understand direct of the Bible that God is a trinity. There is
no reason to make a separate doctrine of this, named “the doctrine of
the trinity”. But men have done such a doctrine, and in that way caused
a problem entirely unnecessarily.
We do not need to take any notice of “the doctrine of the trinity”.
We can ignore this doctrine and read God’s word just as it is written
in the Bible.
The Bible teaches plainly that the Father is a person, and the Son
Jesus Christ is a person, and that the Holy Spirit is a person. Please
read John 6th, 8th, 10th, 14th, 15th and 16th Chapter. Jesus speaks
there about the Father and about himself.
John 16:13-14 shows plainly that the Holy Spirit is a person. “But
when that One comes, the Spirit of Truth, He will guide you into all
Truth, for He will not speak from Himself, but as many things as He
hears, He will speak; and He will announce the coming things to you.
That One will glorify Me, for He will take from Mine and will
announce to you.” (KJ3)
They also have made a doctrine about what the Bible teaches about
the Assembly of God, and a doctrine about what the Bible teaches
about the baptism by the Holy Spirit. Consequently, they have not
preached the truth of the Assembly of God, and not the truth of the
baptism by the Holy Spirit.
Through the new birth we enter the Assembly of God, God’s family.
This has nothing to do with churches and denominations. The Bible
describes the Assembly of God as the Body of Christ. Accordingly,
a living Body. Rom. 12:4-5. 1 Cor. 10:17. 12:27. A living body
cannot be an organization or any church system.
On the time of the apostles any church did not exist. Therefore, the
word “church” does not occur in the Bible. In English translations
of the Bible they have written “church” instead of “assembly”. This
is a very grave translation error. The translators do not see the
difference between the murderer and the victims for the murderer.
The biblical name of the church is “the great whore” and “the great
Babylon”. The word “church” is the most unsuitable name on
God’s people.
The Assembly of God is no Pentecostal church. Please, consider
what this expression “the Assembly of God” in the reality implies.
The Assembly of God must be the same as the Greek word “ekklesia”,
and the Body of Christ. 1 Cor. 12:12-31. Then it is easy to understand
that this has nothing to do with the Pentecostal Movement.
Pentecostal churches have existed about 100 years, but the Assembly
of God has existed ever since Jesus baptized his first disciples by the
Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gave them the new life in Christ so that
they became born anew. Then the Assembly of God was born. Since
then, the Assembly of God has lived here on the earth generation after
generation.
